The Avaya 900 MHz system is based on a micro-cellular design that consists of a Master Control Unit (MCU), base stations, and wireless telephones. With its advanced micro-cellular architecture, the system locates small radio transceivers or base stations throughout a customer's facility to accommodate on-premise roaming. 900 MHz Wireless Telephone (shown at right) Avaya IP Wireless Telephone Solutions integrate with both IP and non-IP enabled Avaya Communications Systems over most 802.11b networks and can scale to support very large numbers of mobile users. With industry-standard 802.11b network compatibility, customers gain the efficiency of converged voice and data on a single wireless infrastructure with flexible support for both direct sequence and frequency hopping 802.11 technologies.
